Built for the trade

GPS tracking for painters.

A Graco sprayer is $4k–$10k. A loaded paint van is $20k+ of stock and kit. Painters lose more to van break-ins than most trades because the gear is small, valuable and easy to flog. TTT goes in the van and on the sprayer so you know the moment it moves.

The pattern

The painter kit is van-bound, dense and high-value:

  • Graco airless sprayers

Graco 395 and 595 sprayers. $4k–$10k. Specific enough that thieves know exactly what they are after.

  • Festool sanders

Rotex, ETS EC, dust extractors. High-resale, very recognisable. Walks off jobs and out of vans.

  • Scaffolding and tower kits

Lightweight alloy scaffold and tower kits. Easy to roll into a ute, valuable to a developer.

  • Paint stock

A full van of premium paint is real money. Get a van break-in and you are out the day's worth of stock before you start.

The damage

What it costs you.

For a paint crew the hit is the lost day plus the replacement cost:

  • Sprayer replacement: $4k–$10k and a week on back-order
  • Stock replacement: $2k–$5k for a working week
  • Day rate lost across the crew
  • Insurance excess on top

How painters use it

How painters use TTT.

Use case

The kit van

TTT mounts inside the van body — under a panel, in the headliner, behind a wheel arch. If the van is rolled or the contents lifted, you know.

Use case

The Graco

TTT lives inside the sprayer case. If the unit walks off a job site, the case follows. Last known location plus a tamper alert is usually enough for the cops to act.

Use case

The Festool boxes

For premium Festool kit, TTT in the SYSPORT or Systainer trolley gives you a single tracker covering the high-value gear in one place.

None of these is a silver bullet. Locks, lighting and insurance still matter. TTT is what tells you where the gear went after the locks fail.

FAQ

Painters questions.

The questions tradies in this trade actually ask before they buy.

Does paint and solvent residue affect the tracker?

Sealed IP67 device, so dust and the odd splash are fine. Do not submerge it in thinners. Wipe it down occasionally so it stays clean.

Will it work inside a metal van?

Yes. Cellular and GPS get a usable signal through a sheet-metal van panel. Mount near a window or vent for best reception. Avoid mounting deep inside a steel toolbox or shipping container — that's where signal really drops.

Can I track the sprayer and the scaffold separately?

Yes — one tracker per asset. Each shows up separately on the dashboard with its own history and alerts.
